Burnley radio presenter Jordan North is to host two new TV show, that are set to be released this year.

The Radio 1 presenter will be the face of the two BBC Three shows which will come to our screens in the coming months.

Project Icon, which will also feature Jason Derulo, will see eight aspiring recording artists to compete against each other to see whether they have got what it takes to transform from a bedroom singer into an all-round music star in just a few weeks.

Jordan said: “I'm well excited to be the host of Project Icon, there is so much fantastic talent in the UK.

“At Radio 1, it’s no secret that we love to champion and find fresh musical talent, so I can’t wait to be part of show that is hoping to uncover the next big music star.”

The show is inspired by Derulo’s own career story, which took off when he realised that the music industry had changed and he reinvented himself to be more than just a great singer.

He rebuilt his profile on social media and on films, gained a new legion of fans and his popularity soared.

Now, he wants to share his formula with eight rough diamonds and give one the chance to follow in his footsteps.

Jason and his long-term manager, Frank Harris, will act as mentors, alongside singer Becky Hill.

Jordan, who came second in the 2020 series of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, will also host Go Hard or Go Home.

The series will follow eight young people who feel stuck in a rut as they are cut off from the modern world in a month-long programme of transformation aimed at improving their health and wellbeing through extreme physical challenges.

Each of them will be paired with a ‘Warrior’ - experts in their specific fields of fitness and health - from MMA fighters to yogis, personal trainers to Olympians - who will mentor and push them every step of the way.

Each will have a unique set of skills and an individual approach which they hope will push their trainees out of their comfort zone and help them overcome the problems they are facing in their life.

Jordan said: “Nearly two years ago, in front of the nation, I was sick on the edge of a cliff [on I’m A Celeb] and everything changed forever.

“From there I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and I haven’t looked back since, which is why I love this show.

“We're pushing eight young people well beyond their comfort zones to become stronger in body and mind to help turn their lives around.”

Project Icon and Go Hard or Go Home will air in 2023.
